The 38th gathering for the appreciation of 6400 farmers and 146 prominent food security proponents took place on Saturday morning 18th of January (29 / Day / 1403) within the Tehran special summit building.

Within this gathering which was accompanied by the current Iranian president Masoud Pezeshkian and the Minister of Agricultural Dr Nouri Ghezeljeh , many deputies from across the agricultural department as well as 146 prominent food security proponents also attended the meeting to celebrate this event.

The purpose of this event, as the name suggests, was to appreciate the exemplary farmers across the country and thus, to publicly broadcast this event, many agricultural journalists across different departments also attended the event to gather and produce news and report regarding this event.

For the opening statement of the event, the current president, Masoud Pezeshkian begins by asserting that the farmers are some of the most important assets of the country and further explained that every change requires one to reflect on their “Yes I can” attitude where the belief of “Yes I can” is the pivot point that the development and progress is stemmed from. He believes that by improving and reflecting on this attitude many issues of the country, including the current agricultural problems, ought to be resolved.

Mr. President by referring to a motivational concept that “if it has been done by others, we also can do it as well” elaborates that by understanding and reflecting on this concept our consciousness awakens, and this is where an individual is truly motivated and can overtakes the obstacles of their lives. He also further explained that when we recognize our insecurities and are under pressure to complete our lives from incompleteness it is when we begin to study, experiment and investigate. This is the point where the individuals can tackle the problems on their path.

Mr. President by referring to the issues and pressure that is facing the individuals who hold managerial positions within the government as well as ordinary people explained, I, myself, am from an ordinary Iranian family where my father was working as a normal office employee and I as well as my friends were working in farmlands. But we always believed that our town is the best in the region.

Another attendee of the summit, Dr Nouri Qazaljah, the Minister of Agricultural (Jihad) began his speech by asserting that the agricultural department is one of the most people-oriented organizations within the government and explained that the most important and vital duty of this organization is to maintain the current standard of food security within the country and this duty proven to be very difficult to conduct. He further elaborated that although it has proven to be very difficult, it is believed that, referring to the current standard of food security, this aim is again obtainable.

Dr. Nouri Ghezeljeh, quoting the challenges such as drought, lack of natural water sources and climate change which are often faced by the farmers within the agriculture sector, explained, that agriculture in Iran ought to be based on employing advancement in technology and adhering to the latest agricultural research. He asserted that the farmland that has undertaken the abovementioned strategy has produced much better results in their cultivation.

Dr. Nouri Ghezeljeh, regarding the private sector in the field of agriculture, explained that they are an important entity in the field and the organization is ready to support them further by providing them with better access to the necessary licenses and officially recognizing their activities. He further explained that currently the private sector is referring to academic and practical research and is focusing on further developing the concept of artificial intelligence in the field of agriculture. He asserted that these are such constructive work, and the organization are aiming to support and value them further.

Dr Nouri Ghezeljeh then regarding the hard work of the current government in the field of agriculture mentioned, I personally would like to thank President Masoud Pezeshkian for guiding and motivating his government to provide such great support to the agricultural sector.

In regard to this gathering, it is believed that Mohammad Mehdi Gasemi, the deputy of the TAT organization, has explained that, for the screening procedure, initially 64,000 farmers were selected and during the second stage this number was increased to 79,000 in which 1,800 of them at the regional stage where appreciated.

He further explained the importance of technology in the field of agriculture and mentioned that technological development is vital for agriculture to meet the needs of the country. He further elaborated that the appreciation ceremony which has been conducted above was vital and that this was a great event that needs to happen again in the future.
